The negative exponent Emden-Fowler equation α < 0 has been used in modeling non-Newtonian fluids such as coal slurries 2 . The physical interest lies in the existence of positive solutions. We are interested in a broad class of singular problem that includes those related with 1.1 and the more general equation uΔΔ t q t u ( σ t ) g ( t, u t ) , t ∈ 0, 1 T . 1.2
